ITEC opened its doors in 1984 to provide computer training to local people. More than 30 years later, we’re still going strong. The team, like the company itself, is long-standing and well-established – we’ve all been here for years!
Our CEO is our longest-standing team member. She was here on day one and, in 1984, was originally employed as the word processing trainer. Wendy now heads up the organisation and is ably assisted by a team of 14 staff and a board of non-executive, voluntary directors from the local business community.
Because we are a ‘not for profit’ organisation all of the funding ITEC receives goes into the business to provide resources for our learners and staff and helps to ensure that all of the ITEC team undergo regular training and development programmes - we practice what we preach!
The exam rooms and classrooms are all air-conditioned and run the latest software. The centre is inclusive, fully-accessible and has a large free car park. We can be found in Burnt Mills Road, Basildon, just along from the Watermill Pub and Northlands Park with easy transport links from all over Essex and London.
We are proud of what we do here at ITEC and proud of our learners and apprentices. As an organisation, we’ve won various awards over the years that are displayed around the centre. Our apprentices and employers often win awards too – in the 2014-15 business awards an ITEC apprentice scooped the title of ‘Apprentice of the Year’ in Southend, and in Basildon, and again in Thurrock!
Here at ITEC we strive for excellence in everything we do – we have a comprehensive range of I.T. and Business courses & Apprenticeships that suit all ages and abilities. We use an ‘out of the box’ approach so, wherever possible, we can tailor the training you require to suit ‘your’ needs.
There’s always a friendly professional on hand to assist you at ITEC and help you or your business achieve your goals. We look forward to seeing you soon.
